Growing up in the Caribbean gave us the richness of the land and it’s nourishing bounty in a vast array of natural beauty. My grandmother Vita had lush “fincas” gardens with almonds, cashews, jagua, hibiscus and orange blossoms, mangos, avocados, citrus and passion fruit, auyama, guandules, and a variety of root vegetables. As children at play we created floral arrangements making use of the rich bounty around us. And it was easy to gather wood for kindling, and play at cooking with leftovers from Vita’s kitchen. Growing up feeling connected to the beauty and bounty of the land, cooking with my elders, gathering flowers in the local gardens, has all contributed to my work in helping people create a beautiful and useful environment.

I also have experience with professional cooking and a formal culinary arts education. With my certificate in French culinary arts training comes knowing that everything has a place.

Many years in the hotel and restaurant industry has made my approach to kitchens, dining, and personal space very organized. These experiences have led me to the skills that I bring, and part of the richness I share with clients.

Professional Experience

I have a certificate from the French Culinary Institute (aka International Culinary Center). My cooking now includes less butter and more local fruits and vegetables. Now my cooking focuses on very healthy nutritious meals. I enjoy creating salads and seasonal soups.

Party planning required me to reorganize spaces and many minute details to create a beautiful event from start to completion. A party space must be welcoming, beautiful, and appropriate for the number of guests and activities involved.
